Chip Fourth_gen_asic Raterange

It takes a lot of R&D to develop the custom circuitry needed for an angular-rate sensor. At Systron Donner Automotive, we’ve got over 100 full-time engineers on staff to create breakthrough technology like the ASIC, which does all the “thinking” for the revolutionary MicroGyro®. Designed from scratch by Systron Donner Automotive, and now in its industry-leading fourth generation, it’s the perfect companion to our unique quartz MEMS sensor element.

The ASIC features unsurpassed rate bias performance, impressive rate range, and selectable configurability. It not only drives the drive-tines in the sensor element, but it processes the signals from the pickup tines, turning them into full SPI digital or analog output, providing a wide range of options for the OEM or Tier 1 integrator. For example, it offers a rate signal dynamic range of plus-or-minus 819 degrees per second—without signal resolution degradation. It boasts extensive internal hardware and software-based fault detection, including our patented CBIT™, or Continuous Built-In Test technology. It even reduces circuitry which is prone to aging effects, by exploiting the inherent stability characteristics offered by digital signal processing.
