Microgyro Details

Chip Quartzfork Imu_board_no_chip

It starts with the finest single-crystal piezoelectric quartz, micromachined using Systron Donner Automotive’s advanced MEMS fabrication. This produces the unique double-ended tuning fork which forms the sensor element within every MicroGyro®. The sensor element is mated with a custom ASIC inside a hermetically-sealed unit no bigger than a coin—but its size belies its power, for the MicroGyro® easily outclasses all competitors, making it the best-value choice for systems such as ESC.

The MicroGyro® can withstand punishing high temperatures—clear up to 125 C—making it ideal for underhood installations. Output is SPI digital, and is fully compensated at all temperature ranges; unlike others, the MicroGyro’s performance is guaranteed at all specs. The MicroGyro® can maintain an offset stability of ±1 degree per second up to 800 degrees per second. This precision sensing eliminates redundancy by allowing a single MicroGyro® to support both high and low-performance applications—an industry exclusive! And then there’s CBIT™, the patented Continuous Built-In Test technology which monitors the unit’s health at all times—and not just during start-up.
